Synopsis
CFF are thrilled to present Lost For Words (2025) for one of this year's Cambridge Connections picks. Lana (Nina Fidderman) wanders into a bookshop and unexpectedly bumps into an old friend, Tom (David Boan). After the two find themselves accidentally locked in overnight, Lana begins to reflect on the dissatisfaction in her life—but there’s a glimmer of hope that things may start to change. Filmed in the beautiful city of Ely and directed by local filmmaker Rick Bush, this film wraps around you like a warm blanket on a cold evening.
This feature is showing together with a short film:
Saturday Night Butch
Directed by Claudia Vogt
CFF 12A, 2023, 13 minutes
UK, Documentary, world premiere, triple F-rated, English
Originating in 1950s America, the term "Saturday Night Butch" described lesbians who dressed stereotypically feminine during the week—for work and daily life—and expressed their Butch identity only on weekends, in lesbian bars.
Claudia Vogt’s film explores the modern relevance of this term through the stories of five queer women, highlighting the positive impact these spaces have had on their lives.
