CFF’S STATE OF THE INDUSTRY PANEL 12:45-14:00

CFF’s Annual State of the Industry Panel brings together professionals from across the sector to explore the key developments in the film industry over the past year. With BSL interpretation.

SARA PUTT

is Chair of BAFTA, a Trustee of the Film and TV Charity and serves on the British Film Commission’s Advisory Board. She established Sara Putt Associates in 1989, the leading UK agency representing behind the camera technical and production talent, and has worked there as MD and Agent ever since.

TOLU STEDFORD

is Executive Producer and CEO of Story Compound, a production company and consultancy amplifying untold stories from the global majority. Named a Breakthrough Leader by The TV Collective (2025) and part of Film London’s Breaking the Glass Ceiling (2023), she is also a BAFTA Connect member and serves on multiple boards and councils championing equity and inclusion.

TINA GHARAVI

is a BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, born in Tehran and raised across the UK and US. Known for bold, emotionally charged stories that challenge convention, her debut I Am Nasrine (2012) was an acclaimed portrait of exile. She directed Queen Cleopatra (2023) for Netflix and the upcoming Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day (2025), and is also founder of Bridge + Tunnel, as well as being a Professor at Newcastle University.

LUC ROEG

is the CEO of London based production and sales company, INDEPENDENT ENTERTAINMENT. He has produced numerous films, many premiering at major festivals worldwide, including Carol Morley’s Out of Blue (2018) and The Falling (2014), the critically acclaimed We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011), directed by Lynne Ramsay, and David Cronenberg’s Spider (2002), among others.

Join us for a Q&A with Charlotte Regan, director of the award-winning debut feature Scrapper (2023), who will discuss her creative process. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight from a filmmaker who has transitioned from making shorts to a feature. Come along to hear about her experiences navigating the film industry.
