Synopsis

AMR, or antimicrobial resistance, refers to the emergence and spread of drug-resistant superbugs. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is one of the greatest threats facing humanity, yet it remains largely unknown to most people.

AMR - Dying to Change the World is a feature-length documentary that sheds light on this growing crisis and the dangers it poses to global health, food security, environmental stability, and the economy. Narrated through a first-person voice-over by Brian Cox, who embodies AMR itself, the film highlights the stories of those already affected, explores the root causes of drug-resistant “superbugs”, from antibiotic overuse to systemic failures, and examines their current and potential consequences.

We are delighted to welcome director Alex Tweddle and Professor Dame Sally Davies for an in-person Q&A after the screening on Thursday 30th October
