Synopsis

This historical drama follows three generations of a Palestinian family, from 1948 in Jaffa to the near present. Inspired by the real-life experiences of Palestinian American filmmaker Cherien Dabis—drawing from her own family, relatives and friends—the film powerfully explores the shared humanity of those forced to confront cycles of violence and the enduring trauma passed down through generations. Told with vivid detail, compassion and authenticity, the story is anchored by Dabis herself, who takes on the central role of the mother recounting her family's journey.
