The Royal Hotel

Film rated as: CFF-15

91 mins

Backpacking mates Hannah and Liv have travelled to Australia, spending their time drinking and partying their way around Sydney until their money finally runs out. Winding up at the ominous Royal Hotel to find work, the pair are faced with rowdy regulars in a barren and baking outback, where they find their comforts and friendship are tested. Director Kitty Green and fellow screenwriter Oscar Redding dive into the simmering undertones of danger and uncertainty that comes from spaces of violent-masculinity, with the tension keeping you gripped until the final scene.
