After a successful international festival run, CFF is proud to present Laura Ferrés' debut feature. The Permanent Picture demonstrates her magisterial command of the image and her innovative narrative style. The film starts in southern Spain, where a teenage mother leaves her family and newborn baby Carmen behind. Fifty years later in Catalonia, we find casting director Carmen at work, where she meets Antonia, who proves to be a very strong character. The film talks about migration, loneliness and family bonds with a combination of deadpan comedy and drama, with exquisite observation and love for its characters.
