Synopsis

It is 1973 and Chile is experiencing a political revolution. Salvador Allende is the president, the first democratically elected socialist in Latin America, which has galvanised the South American nation. American CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) find themselves in the middle of it all, strategically dispatched by the bureau for a “special mission”, not before a quick detour to the scenic sights of Easter Island. There, dark personal secrets and political conspiracies begin to intertwine as the two eccentric agents have to deal with triple-crossings, paranoia and the existential angst that have become director Martin Mcdonagh’s trademark.
