In 1993, when Jihan was six years old, her father travelled to Cairo for a conference and never returned. Once the Foreign Minister of Libya, Mansur Rashid Kikhia was living in exile as an opposition leader against Qaddafi’s regime, and was even considered a potential future leader for Libya. Now, his daughter uses her camera to retrace his disappearance. Mixing personal and state archives, her own experiences and those of her family, Jihan takes the audience on a raw, thought-provoking journey that acts as the ultimate reminder that the personal and the political cannot be separated.
