Winner of the DOC NYC Grand Jury Prize, Artists in Residence is a gem, owing its existence to the New York art scene and the women who shaped it during the 1950s. Director Katie Jacobs moved into a building on 30 East 2nd Street in 2017, where she met the three women who became the anchors of Artists in Residence. All in their nineties today, they tell Jacobs the stories of their youth and the messy beauty of cohabitating as women, as mothers, and as artists, shaping their own collective portrait as an aspirational tale of togetherness.
