Synopsis

As the third feature in her thematic ‘Bradford Trilogy’, director Clio Barnard returns to the scene of The Arbour and The Selfish Giant with a familiar yet fresh take on love and loneliness. One soggy afternoon, landlord Ali (Adeel Akhtar) happens to offer a ride home to Ava (Claire Rushbrook). As initial sparks start to fly, the two bond over a love of music, sharp humor, and companionship neither knew they’d been missing. But will the remnants of Ali’s hidden failing marriage and Ava’s complex family structures be too much?
