As Cary Grant famously remarked: ‘Everyonewants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant.’ Born Archibald Leach in Bristol in 1904, Grant was the epitome of Hollywood elegance, glamour and sophisticated wit, but this absorbing portrait reveals the gulf between the urbane public persona and the deeply insecure private man who, even at the height of his fame, was desperate to find inner peace. Using a wealth of movie clips alongside Grant’s previously unseen home movies, extracts from his unpublished autobiography and some telling interviews, filmmaker Mark Kidel charts Grant’s poignant and fascinating journey of self-discovery.

We are delighted to welcome Mark Glancy for a Q&A following the Saturday screening.
