Internships

Each year, the Cambridge Film Festival runs an internship scheme which give motivated individuals who are based in Cambridge the chance to contribute to the planning and delivery of the annual Festival.

Below is the information relating to the 2011 Internship scheme.  Have a look at this info if you think you may be interested in being an intern in the run-up to the September 2012 Festival – please do not contact us about this yet as the scheme for 2012 has not been finalised. Refer back to this page from Spring 2012 onwards for updates on how to be involved in 2012.

Why Apply?

Undertaking an internship with the Cambridge Film Trust will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and confidence, run challenging projects, work with the Festival’s key partners and stakeholders, create networks, and receive careers guidance and on-going advice. You will learn about the culture and business of film production, exhibition and distribution, and will get the opportunity to meet and liaise with film industry professionals and filmmakers. The skills and working knowledge that you will pick up through this opportunity will be invaluable to you as your career in the arts progresses.

Working Location(s)

Interns are based at the Cambridge Film Trust’s offices at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse cinema, and are also expected to attend Festival events at other locations around Cambridge. Please be aware that there is no lift to the third floor on which the Festival office is located. If you have concerns about this please get in touch.

Our internships are unpaid but we will cover certain work-related expenses. They are mostly part time, with a varying schedule and flexibility, although interns would be expected to be available for certain events such as the 10 day film Festival itself (15-25 September).
