1944: after five years of war a Nazi invasion lands on British soil. Within a month, half the country is occupied. One morning the women of an isolated valley wake to find their husbands gone. Assuming the men have joined the Resistance, they wait, desperate for news. A German patrol arrives in the area, its mission a mystery. When a severe winter forces the two groups into cooperation, its thaw leaves them facing the consequences of their mutual dependency.

Michael Sheen (FROST/NIXON), Iwan Rheon (E4's MISFITS), and Andrea Riseborough (BRIGHTON ROCK) star in this thriller set in a Welsh valley among the Black Mountains.

“Beautiful, amazing adaptation... Andrea Riseborough is stunning”
- Company Magazine

“Composed and atmospheric, painterly in detail, it draws you into a forgotten valley - a poignant meditation on the real cost of resistance”
- Francine Stock, The Film Programme, BBC Radio 4

"One of the most haunting films I've seen all year"
- Dylan Jones"
