Really interesting account of what technology and modernisation can do to a city, people and their livelihoods and the environment - and not in a positive way. It begs the question - how much could have been achieved if the money given to the foreign companies had been redirected to the Zallabeen? Here are a people who live and breath recycling and are a lot more efficient than the western countries they dream about, but lack education and a single strong voice to match the power of large companies.
