Empire State

CFF-18 certification
MAIN FEATURES
Director: Ron Peck. Starring: Martin Landau, Ray McAnally, Jamie Foreman, Glenn Murphy.
United Kingdom, 1987. 104 mins.
EMPIRE STATE follows the fortunes of twenty characters as they hustle the streets of late eighties London for hard cash... rent boys, City businessmen, yuppies, lonelyhearts, boxers, petty thieves and gangsters. The action unfolds within twenty-four hours and gravitates to the East End of the city, finally converging on a fabulous nightclub, the Empire State, a labyrinth of neon bars, dance floors and dark corridors where bodies are reputedly hidden behind the walls. As the land on which the nightclub itself stands is ruthlessly fought over, the night explodes into carnage and violence and all of the characters are one way or another caught up in it.
