An Englishman travelling by ferry to meet his lover in France becomes increasingly suspicious of two of his fellow-passengers, two brothers, who he suspects are criminals on their way to a dangerous rendezvous to collect a large sum of money in Caen. He becomes obsessed with them and actual events involving the brothers seem to become mixed with his own fantasies about them to the point where he appears to be influencing their destiny. A mystery about motives, CROSS-CHANNEL is a story of the sea and the ferries and the dangers of getting caught up in somebody else's imagination.
