Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

CFF-15 certification
DOCUMENTARIES / SCIENCE ON SCREEN
Director: Nathan Frankowski.
USA, 2008. 90 mins.
Lawyer, actor and writer Ben Stein is the protagonist in this documentary which contends that scientists, teachers and journalists who advocate the teaching or even the consideration of Intelligent Design as an alternative to Darwinism are unfairly criticised and ostracised from the scientific establishment. The controversy over the film in the US has been extreme, with The New York Times describing it as “a conspiracy-theory rant masquerading as investigative inquiry” and the American Association for the Advancement of Science calling it dishonest and divisive propaganda. An important and significant example of partisan documentary making, whatever your views on the issue.
