Synopsis

In 2004, Jan Egeland, the U.N. Emergency Relief Coordinator, called Northern Uganda the world’s worst neglected humanitarian disaster. A Brilliant Genocide is a documentary film revealing the untold stories from the 20-year long war in Northern Uganda between Jospeh Kony’s Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) and the Ugandan Government under current President Yoweri Museveni. Exposing the brutal campaigns by the Museveni regime to wipe out a significant part of Uganda’s Acholi people under the guise of crushing a rebellion by The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), it features interviews with Museveni’s former close associates involved in conducting some of the most bloodiest campaigns in the north, and many other prominent Ugandan thinkers, opposition figures, activists, exiles and émigrés.

We are delighted to announce that Ambassador Olara Otunnu, President of UPC (opposition party) and former UN Under-Secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict will head the Q&A for the film. Other guests include Josephine Apera, Bosco Nyeko and Joseph Ochieno.
